My dishwasher smells like burning rubber during certain cycles while running. There is nothing sitting on the heating element. The dishwasher is about 6 years old.

My Whirlpool dryer model #LER7648PT1 stopped tumbling. I was cleaning the inside of it and turned it the wrong dirrection apparently and I heard a loud noise. It works but the tub doesn't turn now.

Stove and oven repairs should always be left to a qualified and licensed stove and oven repair professional. Unless you have some amount of experience with these appliances, it's best not to attempt to fix any problems with your electric or gas stove and oven on your own. If you have handy DIY skills, and know your way around gas and electric appliances, then you can attempt a few simple repairs before you call a professional. Remember however to turn off all power supply before conducting any electric stove or oven repair, and turn off the gas valve as well as the main gas supply in case of a gas oven or stove repairs. An electric oven or stove that refuses to turn on could be linked to a lack of power to the appliance. Look for anything that signals that the oven or stove is receiving power, like a light. If there is no power to the appliance, there may be a blown fuse or circuit breaker in the house. There could also be burning of the wires at the back of the oven or stove or problems with the main wiring connection.
Ovens can often be prone to burnt out baking and broiling elements. Although any heating element has an expected life of many years, the element can get burnt out, sooner rather than later. There are very little oven repairs you can do to fix the burnt element, and you may have to replace it. Burners can also burn out, and these have to be replaced too. Remember that when any heating element is burnt out, you not only have to replace the element, but also the switch that controls it. Stove repairs can frequently involve shorts in the switch contacts. This is why your burner stays on a high setting, no matter how much you turn the knob. Call a stove repair professional, and get the switch replaced.
You can minimize the need for frequent oven repairs and stove repairs by taking care to clean and maintain your stove or oven regularly. Remove the buttons and knobs of your stove and oven, and clean with a mild detergent. Clean the control panel surface by using a damp cloth and non abrasive cleaner. Harsh cleaners may cause the glass on the control panel to corrode. The burner drip pans must also be cleaned and replaced once every two years. While cleaning around the burners, look for signs of burning out, like blisters and bubbles. Replace any corroded gasket seals.
